Don't jump on the HS2 bandwagon

The case for HS2 has been made with projections which are now falling apart

  • Published in Transport.

I wish to register my objection to the editor’s derogatory classification of opponents (Editor's commentary, PE August) of HS2 as Nimbys. The editor is obviously uninformed regarding the case against HS2 and the current state of high-speed rail networks in Europe. The case for HS2 has been made with a load of spurious forecasts and projections which are now falling apart.

A true engineer would analyse the case for and against analytically and not jump on the HS2 bandwagon and engage in a smear campaign.
