Thank you Mr Editor for your sarcastic paragraph in the Jan 2012 'Eye'. It encouraged me - not a complete computer ignoramus - to add my vote to the e-petition.
It is vital for the UK economy, and the engineering profession, that the hard-earned and meaningful status of Chartered Engineer - earned by years study (day and night) and practical experience - be defended and enhanced. The guy who is repairing the cistern in my loo is not an "engineer", he is a plumber!
