Vulcan, you're on your own
Great Britain's political leaders have little or no concern for engineering heritage and innovation

I concur with John Griffith but he seems to be surprised that our politicians do not recognise the engineering heritage of the Vulcan Bomber and do not give any support for the last airworthy example.
It is only recent history when politicians acted, in my opinion, as luddites disgracefully and traitorously scrapping the iconic British engineering success of the Concorde. If they would do that to a current money making winner that no other country in the world was able to successfully produce they will not think twice about abandoning the last Vulcan.
Great Britain's political leaders have little or no concern for engineering heritage and innovation other than for rhetoric or their own photo opportunity value.
With much dismay – good luck Vulcan you are on your own.
