The maths league
Students are better off studying maths and and potentially failing it than not studying it at all
- Published in Letters.
Too few students studying Maths at A-level was really no surprise to me and it should not be a surprise to the government having introduced league tables back in the 90s.
Even if students want to study Maths at A-level, there are instances where they are not allowed to by the schools if the school thinks there is a chance that they could fail it - of course if they fail a subject it affects the schools' league tables. If someone wants to study engineering, in my own opinion, they are better off studying Maths and and potentially failing it than not studying it at all.
